Comments in this thread mirror what i’ve heard asked and commented on from other communities (#WordPress, JS). It’s not just one tech community, it’s generally everybody because… well… we’re all human. twitter.com/taylorotwell/s…

@mattmedeiros Nice attitude! I feel that (great for baseball) average is also realistically avg for #WordPress news game folks taking swings. Observers at times set their expectations too high. BUT sadly some DO need to be “sent to minors” IMO. I’m still playing the game in my backyard.

@FrancescaMarano Def. more diversity on #WordPress Dev Twitter on a weekly basis would be nice. To be fair, I don’t see everything.

I have the upmost respect for those that cover #WordPress news and sharing their $0.02. At times the takes are out of the park… other times foul balls… and everything in between. For the most part happy just to see people playing the game on the field. ⚾

@dan_knauss I just remember in those days before I got involved with the #WordPress community – in freelancing forums, in newsletters – mainly people were jumping ship because of the MT pricing / plan changes. Maybe it wasn’t that exact moment in time, maybe writing on the wall.

I’m old enough to remember one of the biggest reasons freelancers switched to #WordPress in the early days because Movable Type started charging. 😆

It’s hard to argue that #WordPress developers should be paid more when you see someone on jobs.wordpress.net looking for “3+ years experience” (and willing to sign an NDA) w/ a budget of “$10-$25/hour”.

Been almost a week since @DjevaLoperka asked about #WordPress documentation support at #WCEU. Did any companies step up? Any companies planning to? Why a seemingly lack of interest in this and similar areas? Docs not as cool to as many as FSE / performance? What can be done? 🤔
