@shelleyKeith @bamadesigner That’s perfectly fine (speaking for #wcmia) assuming there’s something there to see right before. Also a link is 10x easier for organizers then getting files in Dropbox and organizing that right before an event.

@BFTrick @WordCampDenver #wcmia had a form (separate site via Gravity Forms) of those who could give backup talks. They entered (among other things) their number to call/text. Individuals confirmed registered (& therefore physically there). All volunteers on site had numbers to call. Worked pretty well.

@jcasabona not sounding like that at all. i support official channels BUT also deeply support independent ways of getting news, event info, etc. and integrating some things into my own events like #wcmia.

@jenniferbourn Sorry to hear that. Guessing there’s a design lead or only so many seats on the design team. Interesting to see how other camps operate sometimes. At #wcmia we take as many design volunteers as we can get! LOL.

@JJJ @pgibbs Fun tip: #wcmia actually had a hackathon planned where the goal was to make a WordPress theme that was a RPG basically. Teams (companies) would compete to build the best version.
