  • Would love to see at future regional WordCamps to show investment in next gen: teen specific: learn #WordPress day 1, then commerce & business using WP on day 2. Don’t just teach them WP, teach the application, and THEN teach how they contribute back. #WCMIA did this.

  • Often got asked why @wordcampmiami did non-tech, non-#WordPress, health, etc. related talks/tracks. Many local attendees told us they had jobs, families, and not able to attend OTHER conferences focused on those. #WCMIA teams throughout the years did great serving local needs.

  • @Otto42 @topher1kenobe @WordCampUS @mysweetcate Agreed. To be REALLY effective you kind of have to maintain a pulse throughout the year. For #WCMIA you do this through the local meetups. For #WCUS #WCUE it’s a little tougher because you need a pulse on the larger community. Not the same as the WP learn project.

  • I coded in high school but my daughter (a senior) does 10x what I did. Running clubs & hackathons @MusthacksJr, building websites (getting paid), and intern for a #WordPress media company. Taking college courses. Still having fun/friends. I credit her attitude, her mom, #WCMIA.
