SURPRISE. #Twitter deletes TwitterSafety's thread and policy on their help page detailing its new policy to prevent accounts from promoting other social media platforms, including #Mastodon. 🙄 What this means for us here: should be able to still use tools to find folks who come over from the #TwitterMigration. Especially since there appear to be…

All the #Mastodon activity in the past few hours has me starting a workout on my Apple Watch.

FediAct is a Chrome / Firefox browser extension that lets you follow accounts on foreign #Mastodon instances, All data is processed locally, This works, i've tried this in Firefox. 👍🏻 https://github.com/Lartsch/FediAct

#Twitter policy doesn't just effect what content is in the tweets you post but anything your profile – including #Mastodon usernames. Services attempting to find people who came from Twitter will basically now be worthless (unless i'm missing something). I am currently primarily using https://movetodon.org/

Me and @davew were just talking about journalism networks. Betting if there was ever going to be a mass adoption outside of #mastodon this might factor into this policy at some point too (or pick your field).

#Twitter just now released a "Promotion of alternative social platforms policy" that includes #Mastodon. "We will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter… we will remove accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social platforms and content that contains links or usernames for the following platforms: #Facebook, #Instagram,…

Some might be resistant to follow a lot on #Mastodon but (just speaking for myself) (1) so many new ones joining & following me, i don't see any posts to determine a good enough match (2) it's not easy to see those WITH posts – in my web UI – without going over to their…

Hey #Mastodon – we did it. We are finally trending on Twitter.

Ok, where is Twitter's account on #Mastodon. Time to return fire and suspend it. ….say what now?

I hope Twitter's suspension of #Mastodon account creates a Barbra Streisand effect.

What is the number one thing slowing me down in "exploring" to find new users in #Mastodon? Clicking on profile username and only seeing one or two messages and then seeing this: (If there was a way to get this even in another column in advanced view, that would be a win.)

I find it fascinating when i see people who say they are off 🐦 get upset when people they follow post something on #Mastodon and are posting the same thing over on the other site (not a link to 🐦 but a copy-and-pasting text). Seen one or two so far… but serious unhealthy jealous relationship…

Please don't criticize newbies on how they use #Mastodon. I've seen snark for over a decade in social and rather not see it here. M strives to be better. There is nothing wrong in lists. That's how some people find/try others. Some don't have time to "just go explore" and M doesn't make this easy…
